Q: What are fountain fireworks?

A: Fountains are fireworks that are ground based. Once lit, they erupt beautifully coloured sparks and often whistle or crackle. Fountain fireworks can reach up to 20ft in height. These fireworks are perfect for all types of displays - both low noise and larger displays.

Q: Where and when can I use fountains?

A: As with every other firework, fountains can only be used on your own land or property. You can only use them on other people's property if you have their consent. It is against the law to use any type of firework in a public space. Fountain fireworks can be used any day of the year between the hours of 7am and 11pm. There are certain events where fireworks can continue until midnight and a little after, these include bonfire night and new year.

Q: How do I use fountains?

A: It is important to follow safety precautions when setting up any firework.

Make sure that your fountain is set up on a flat, hard and level surface and that it has a clear open space to flow. Stabilise your fountain using bricks. Some fountains can be inserted into soft ground - check the box for advice on this. With other fountains you may be advised to attach it directly to an upright post at 45 degrees. Check the box for directions on how your specific fountain should be set up.

Fountain fireworks emit a lot of sparks so do not set them up near any other fireworks. Ensure the audience is at least 8 meters away from the fountain.

A: Any adult aged 18 and over can purchase fountain fireworks, this law applies to all fireworks.
