Q: What effects should I expect from a rocket?
A: Rocket fireworks shoot up into the sky, bang and produce bursts of colour. They often make a long whistle sound too!
Q: Who can purchase rockets?
A: Any adult aged 18 and over can purchase rockets, this law applies to all fireworks.
Q: How do I set up a rocket?
A: To set up a rocket, push the launch tube into the ground until it is stable. Angle the tube slightly away from the audience. Be sure to consider the direction of the wind when positioning the tube as the wind can tip the stick during flight.
Insert the rocket stick into the tube. Make sure that the rocket is loose in the tube before lighting as you do not want it to get stuck. Never insert the rocket stick directly into the ground. Do not fire rockets from bottles.

A: The safe viewing distance for a rocket is 8 to 25 meters. (dependant upon the category)
Q: Where and when can I use a rocket?
A: You can use rockets on your own land or property. You can only use them on other people's property if you have their consent. It is against the law to use any type of firework in a public space. Fireworks can be used any day of the year between the hours of 7am and 11pm. There are certain events where fireworks can continue until midnight and a little after, these include bonfire night and new year.
